Sai Prateek Narayan

About Me
An aspiring architectural and urban designer, Sai currently works as an Innovation Designer at Sherwood Design Engineers in San Francisco, California. His focus is in the intersection of urban design, sustainability, ecology, and resiliency.
He completed his Bachelors in Architecture from Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY in 2015, and with an interest in affordable housing and slum redevelopment, moved to Mumbai and worked for 2 years.
He completed his Masters in Urban Design with Honors from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA in 2019, where he was involved in several research projects, from neighborhood feasibility studies, to the study of abandoned postal facilities into community resilience centers. His graduate thesis - titled “Water Marks: Restoring Water’s Status in the Urban Realm” - focused on altering the Pittsburgh streetscape to create spaces for water literacy and advocacy, and garnered an honorable mention in the UA Ruhr “Future of My City” international competition.
He is currently an Ecodistrict Accredited Professional, and is currently studying for his LEED GA and working towards a Living Future Accreditation.
Fun Facts: Sai climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in 2010 to raise awareness about children with autism in Oman. He also spent a summer in high school building a dormitory with local materials for an elementary school in Ladakh, India.
